Terms of use

Educator (the “service”) is a daily-practice study tool for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, GCSE History, and GCSE Geography (plus KS3 variants of Food and Geography). It's operated by Ben Willis, a sole trader based in England. By using the service you agree to these terms.

Educator is built for students aged 13 and over. If you're younger than 13, you need a parent or guardian's permission and they need to set up the account. If your school has subscribed to Educator, your teacher decides who in their school gets accounts. Otherwise you can sign up as an individual.

• Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Don't share them.
• Tell us if your account is being used by someone else.
• We can suspend or close an account if it's being misused.

Don't:

• Try to break the service or get into other people's accounts.
• Scrape or copy our card content for republishing elsewhere.
• Use the service to harass, bully, or impersonate anyone — leaderboards and class features are for healthy competition, not anything else.
• Upload anything illegal.

The card content (questions, answers, distractors, explanations) is owned by us or licensed to us. You're welcome to use it to study for your exam. Don't republish it, sell it, or use it to train other models.

Anything you submit through the service (e.g. a “report this card” comment) gives us a non-exclusive licence to act on it.

Individual accounts.Educator's free tier gives you 5 practice sessions per day after a 7-day free trial. Pro subscriptions unlock unlimited sessions plus extra features (streak freezes, all cosmetics, ranked leaderboard, weekly leagues).

• Pricing:Pro is £30 per year or £3 per month, both inclusive of any UK VAT. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers.
• Free trial:7 days from sign-up. You can use the full Pro feature set during the trial. If you don't upgrade before the trial ends, your account moves to the free tier automatically (no charge).
• Renewal: Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose (monthly or yearly). Cancel any time from your profile to stop renewal.
• Cancellation:Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access until then. There's no early-termination fee.
• Refunds:UK consumer-rights law gives you a 14-day cooling-off period from purchase to request a full refund, even if you've started using the service. Email support@educator-labs.com within 14 days. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion — we'll consider them case-by-case (e.g. if we've failed to deliver the service).
• Failed payments: If a renewal fails, Stripe retries automatically over the following days. If it ultimately fails, your account moves to the free tier and you keep all your data and progress.

School accounts.Schools subscribe under a separate agreement (annual fixed-term, invoiced). Cancellation mid-term doesn't entitle you to a refund unless we've materially failed to deliver the service.

We aim to keep the service running, but we don't guarantee uptime or that it's free of bugs. We'll fix things as fast as we can. Educator is a study aid — it doesn't replace a teacher, a textbook, or sitting your exam.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is capped at the fees you (or your school) paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law says we can't limit.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we'll tell you the next time you sign in. Continued use after changes means you accept them. For paying subscribers, material changes to billing terms get at least 30 days' notice.

You can close your account from your profile at any time. We can close an account that violates these terms. Closing your account also cancels any active Pro subscription — you won't be charged again, but no refund is issued for remaining time in the period unless you're within the 14-day cooling-off window.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
